4 Spanish Trends I’m Dying to Try

Spanish fashion is very similar to American fashion, but there are definitely some pieces I’ve noticed that are SUPER popular here & aren’t a big deal in the States (yet). Being the shop-a-holic that I am, I feel like it’s my duty to try out these trends, okay maybe I’m just using my abroad experience as an excuse to shop, but potato potahto …. Also, as you’ll see in the following photos I have become kind of a creep #sorrynotsorry.

1. Printed Joggers

I know these bad boys are starting to gain traction in the US, due to the billion fashion blogs I follow, but they are already a big f*ckin deal here. Must get a pair! Printed joggers are like an acceptable way to wear pajamas outside and still look chic.

2. Baby Doll dresses

Processed with VSCOcam with m5 preset

I’ve noticed that a lot of women wear dresses here, maybe more so than in the states. I am in love with these super simple swing dresses that look flattering on any figure, and it’s pretty much like wearing a giant t-shirt in public while still looking adorable (do you see a pattern in my fashion taste…?).

3. Shoes!

The Spanish’s shoe game is solid. Look at all these fun pairs that I creepily took pictures of while on the metro! I neeeed them all. Also, shoes are less expensive here, and there are a ton of little shoe stores sprinkled throughout the city.

4. Swing Tops

Last but not least, the flowy top. I’ve noticed the bohemian style is super in here, which I loveee. The teacher I work with actually has the best bohemian style ever, but we don’t know each other well enough for me to take a picture of her outfits everyday…

Shannon’s Summertime Wishlist

1. Embroidered blouses // 2. Mini backpack // 3. Statement earrings // 4. Black romper // 5. Sandal booties

Summer has finally hit the midwest with full force, and I couldn’t be happier about it. This winter was a long one for us, so it’s pretty amazing to finally enjoy the outdoors again (yay for outdoor seating, patio bars, and long walks around the city). A new season means new items that I have been oogling over. I keep noticing embroidered tops around the city, and can’t wait to get my hands on a flowy number like this old navy one. Carrying a purse around the city can hurt one of my shoulders, so a fun little backpack like this one would be a good investment. Statement earrings, because duh. I love me a good romper, and I think I need a plain black one that could be dressed down for daytime, and dressed up for a night on the town. Last but not least I have been eyeing these summer sandals for MONTHS, but still don’t have them for some reason…

Do you have any summer items on your wish list?

Fashion Friday: Love Birds Edition

KissykissPS

Hello lovely people, and happy Friday to you! Last weekend we were lucky enough to have a couple days of sunshine following a very rainy week, so what better way to celebrate than a photoshoot?! I asked Logan to come along for this one, because his fashion sense is pretty amazing.

ShannyLogiBridge

Whitewater has been our home for the past three years (four for Logan), and as graduation gets closer and closer I can’t help but feel a little nostalgic about all the little Whitewater things I’ll miss (obviously I’m mainly talking about beer here, sorry mom!). However, I’ll also miss the beautiful places Whitewater has including this bridge that is right behind my dorm where I’m an RA; look how perfect it is!

I couldn’t resist this opportunity to take some cutesy couple pictures of us. The scenery here in Whitewater is absolutely gorgeous; I’m soaking it in as much as I can before I move back to the windy city this summer (green is sparse there). Also, how could I not flaunt this very hunky, well dressed man I’ve been lucky enough to be with for almost five years *yikes, sounding old.*

Did I mention he’s also supa strong…? Sorry guys, he’s taken 😉

Sunday Style: Three Ways to Rock Your (Boyfriend’s) Classic V-Neck

I don’t know about you, but I have somehow ended up with a few of my boyfriends classic white v-necks (sorry Andy!). These work great for men as undershirts, but there are more than a few ways you can dress them up for yourself. Here are three simple ways to take a basic tee and make it stylish. Whether your Sunday consists of running errands or catching up on work, look cute and comfy in your favorite white tee.

1. With Patterned Pants

Pattern pants are definitely in this spring. I snagged a pair last summer at Old Navy, which may also be the same pair Shannon owns… *Twinning*. These pants make a statement, and the best way to help them shine is by pairing them with a plain white tee! I added my favorite gold necklace to give the outfit an extra dose of glam.

2. Over a Maxi Dress

An easy ways to dress down a maxi dress is to throw on a white v neck. My favorite maxi dress has black and white stripes, so the white tee on top is a great way to break up the pattern. The best part about getting a maxi dress instead of a maxi skirt is you can always put a shirt or sweater on top to make it look like a dress! Its pretty much a two-for-one deal.

3. Paired with Scarf and Wedges

There is no better way to dress up a casual outfit than with heels. Now that summer is just around the corner, its officially wedge season! I scored these guys at a super discount store for only ten bucks last summer.  They add the perfect pop of color to any outfit, definitely my summer go to. Any scarf will pair pretty well with these shoes, even if they don’t exactly match. The white tee is a perfect way to let these accessories be the focus of the outfit.

Fashion Friday: Selfie Edition

Stripes.jpg

But first, lemme take a selfie. My selfie game is pretty strong, especially if I want to show my favorite twinny, Kayla, what I’m wearing from 100 miles away. It’s been a pretty crummy week weather-wise in the good ol’ midwest. We had a ton of rain mixed with cold and wind, so I thought it would be fun to show you all my wardrobe via selfies for this week (instead of taking pics outside)!

I’m definitely going through a vest phase at the moment; it’s the perfect winter to spring transition piece. I’ve been wearing this denim one nonstop.

WhiteTunicCollage

Selfies in the bathroom, selfies in my messy dorm room; I cannot be stopped *MUWAHAHA*! Check out that super adorable garland Kayla made for me, she’s a crafting animal. I’ve had that white floral shirt since 8th grade. Yeah, I obviously have a problem getting rid of my clothes… #sorrynotsorry

This marks the return of the denim vest, I told you I was a bit obsessed with it. Notice my Hunter rain boots that I got for my birthday *thanks parents!* They’ve definitely been loved this week, as it rained almost everyday. I don’t know how those Seattle people deal with the constant rain because my little heart can’t handle gloomy weather much longer.

How strong is your selfie game?

Nice weather has finally hit the good ol’ Midwest, and I could not be happier! Winter in Wisconsin this year was an absolute nightmare.
